Vision, Mission and Goals

RE Vision
Members retain a lifelong commitment to UU Principles and identity as valued members of their religious community and make a positive difference in the world.
 
RE Mission
To provide a solid foundation that kindles our children’s understanding of the Sources that our UU tradition draws from and empowers them to use the UU Principles as guidelines for living.
 
RE Goals
  1. Promote acceptance of self and others.
    1. Implement OWL Program.
    2. Formulate plan to expand into Lifespan OWL program.
  2. Articulate UU identity with pride.
    1. Create a workshop rotation focused on the 7 principles
    2. Create a workshop rotation on the 6 sources (2008-2009:including holidays)
    3. Formulate plan to implement Coming of Age program.
    4. Facilitate Bridging and graduation activities.
  3. Experience the sacredness and interconnectedness of all living beings.
    1. Implement Social Justice Programs for All age levels.
  4. Encourage an intergenerational community that attracts and retains families and helps to grow the program.
    1. Operate multi-age summer program.
    2. Facilitate Child Dedication Ceremony.
    3. Work with minister to facilitate intergenerational worship 1-3 times per year.
    4. Create 1-3 Fellowship Fun Nights
    5. Communicate goals and activities of the RE program to the congregation.
    6. Provide childcare for KUUF events as requested and for Sunday services.
    7. Contact families with attendance issues.
    8. Contact new families.
  5. Support and guidance to the CREC, workshop facilitators, guides and youth advisors.
    1. Attend conferences, trainings, and district sponsored events to keep updated on trends, issues, and curriculum of UU for leadership development.
    2. Work with committee to recruit and deliver orientation to workshop facilitators and guides for all program levels and each rotation.
    3.  Keep volunteer records.
    4. Celebrate workshop facilitators, guides and youth advisor through installation and recognition.
    5. Director of Religious Education will be available most Sunday mornings to meet and work with parents, workshop facilitators, guides and congregation members.
    6. Meet with parents and maintain religious education records on a regular basis.
    7. Prepare, administer, and submit reports on the RE budget. Stay within budget and submit reimbursement vouchers.
    8. Provide resources for workshop facilitator, guides and youth advisors.
    9. Update and maintain RE library. 
    10. Communicate issues, progress, highlights of  CRE program to Minister, Board, and administrative staff.
    11. Work with the committee to formulate the philosophy of the CRE program, make decisions regarding curriculum and evaluation at monthly meetings
